About Us

Hey folks, welcome to Fish Tank Master.

I’m Saurabh and I’m glad you checked my blog. Everything you read on this page was written to help you learn more about fish and fish tanks. I have over 10 years of experience in this hobby.

If you’re a fish fanatic like me, you will enjoy this blog!

How it All Started

I was obsessed with fish since I was a teenager. My grandfather was into fishing when I was little, so I’m guessing the obsession was born the first time we went fishing together.

However, instead of hunting and eating the fish, I wanted to take care of them. At the age of 13, I saved all my lunch money for school and bought a small aquarium with a single goldfish.

We had a vacation house near a lake outside of town, so the next time we had a family vacation, I took my grandfather’s fishing equipment, so I could catch myself some new best friends.

The lake was small but lively. It had just small mosquito fish, ghost shrimp, baby bluegills, etc. However, I was happy with the choice. My mom bought me a larger fish tank for my 14th birthday.

I put all fish in the same tank. This was probably my first mistake! However, I was determined to learn everything there is to know about fish, so I started reading different books. Then, I discovered YouTube. I soaked up every single tutorial I came across.

A few years later, I felt confident enough to start my blog! The goal was to teach fish enthusiasts how to take proper care of their fish and fish tanks, so they don’t repeat my mistakes.

What’s the Purpose of This Blog?

I have 3 words for you: responsible fish-keeping. This is one of the main reasons why I started this blog. Unfortunately, fish don’t get as much attention as other pets in the world.

One of the reasons is the lack of information provided by pet store owners. Most people who own a pet store don’t know much about fish, how to keep your aquarium healthy, etc.

They believe that fish can be kept in bowls without heaters, filters, and other necessary equipment. This is entirely wrong! In reality, fish require special care and weekly maintenance.

This is something they fail to mention at the pet store. I highly suggest that you do your research before buying any pet. Otherwise, you will make foolish mistakes and lose your pets.
